Social Skills

Hourly sessions in social skills are provided for students on a 1:1 basis or in pairs with another child of similar age and social level. During these sessions issues relating to the student’s needs are covered through discussion, work sheets and role-play activities. Frequently targeted issues include: using appropriate behaviour in social settings, conversation skills, making and keeping friends, gaining confidence and self esteem and varying home and school issues. Students are also encouraged to discuss any difficulties that they encounter at home, school or socially in which they would like guidance and advice with.
